My wife Elaine and I met in high school, and we have been married for 46 years. We have two wonderful daughters and two grandchildren. We have lived in Cary for 20 years after moving from Greenville, North Carolina.
I grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My parents experienced the Great Depression, my father served in the US Navy during WWII. While deployed in the Pacific, my mother worked as a drill press operator making ammunitions for the war effort. By their example I learned the value of family, demanding work, commitment, thrift, and saving.
After high school, I learned many valuable lessons while serving in the US Navy Submarine Force. It was during long under-sea deployments that I experienced the trust and confidence of placing your life in your shipmates’ hands and having him place his life in your hands.
After my honorable discharge from the Navy, I worked as a Sous Chef while earning my undergraduate degree. Management in food and healthcare services became my first career after college. During my twenty plus years in management I was progressively promoted to more challenging positions of greater responsibility. As a leader and manager, I learned to value honesty, integrity, and maintaining a positive outlook.
In 2006, I retired from management to launch a second career as a Financial Advisor, a role I had desired for many years. There is nothing I enjoy more than the satisfaction of seeing my clients improve the quality of their lives by organizing their finances, reaching their goals, and sense of confidence.
